UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTS Many laboratories welcome undergraduate students as research assistants. The students are involved in the day-to-day activities of the laboratories, assisting the scientists and gaining a keen insight into essential, fundamental research. Generally, students commit to working approximately 35 hours per month, for several months at a time. The assistance is financially compensated.
